El objetivo principal de HIIT es equipar a los profesores de educación superior en Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas (STEM) con la autoeficacia, las competencias y las habilidades necesarias para comprender los principios y construcciones de la tecnología educativa y aprovecharlos rápidamente para mitigar el impacto del cierre por COVID y salvaguardar la naturaleza inclusiva de las oportunidades de aprendizaje.  El marco HIIT permite a los profesores de educación superior en STEM comprender cómo aprovechar al máximo las tecnologías de aprendizaje y las herramientas digitales en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de materias específicas de manera sistemática.

The main aim of HIIT is to equip HE STEM teachers with the self-efficacy, competencies and skills needed to understand the principles and constructs of Instructional Technology and rapidly leverage these to mitigate the impact of closure due to COVID and safeguard the inclusive nature of learning opportunities. The HIIT framework enables HE STEM teachers to understand how to take maximum advantage of learning technologies and digital tools in subject-specific teaching and learning in a systematic way.
